(WJW) — Thousands of power outages in Northeast Ohio reported Wednesday by FirstEnergy have been resolved.
As of Wednesday afternoon, more than 4,000 customers in Cuyahoga, Geauga and Lake counties were without power, according to FirstEnergy's website. Service was restored for the vast majority of those customers by the evening.
Crews on Wednesday investigated the cause of a "circuit lockout" and sought to make necessary repairs, according to FirstEnergy.
FirstEnergy earlier Wednesday said to think of their electrical equipment the same as you would a circuit breaker in your home.
"Our equipment works like a circuit breaker in a home that shuts off power when trouble occurs – known as a circuit lockout," the company tells FOX 8. "We’re currently investigating what made the ‘circuit breaker’"’ trip."
