Illinois Man Gets Busted For Selling Fake Cubs Hats

May 14, 2023May 14, 2023

One Illinois man is determined to get rich selling fake Chicago sports merchandise, but the cops keep busting him.

I'm sure you've heard the old saying; "if at first you don't succeed, try, try again", but this specific guy in Illinois really needs to find a new business venture.

Allow me to set the scene for you...

An Illinois man named Bruce Lee had a really good White Sox ticket scam going from about 2016 to 2019 that cut the White Sox organization out of about $1 Million dollars in profit.

How did he do it? He enlisted help from two White Sox ticket sellers according to NBC Chicago. After selling 34,876 fraudulently obtained tickets in the span of three years, Bruce Lee got caught in 2020, arrested, and sentenced in 2021 to a year and a half in prison.

It's now 2023 and Bruce Lee is out of jail...and obviously up to old tricks again.

Bruce Lee may be out of jail, but he is still on federal probation, and apparently, he doesn't care.

Lee's scamming ways have now switched from selling stolen tickets to fake Chicago Cubs bucket hats.

According to ABC 7 Chicago;

Bruce Lee, 37, was arrested Wednesday after undercover officers purchased the counterfeit Cubs bucket hats from Lee on two separate occasions in Wrigleyville.

Does Bruce Lee only sell fake baseball merchandise? Nope. Undercover officers found 78 fake Cubs buckets hats AND some fake Chicago Bears beanies in his possession at the time of his arrest.

It appears Bruce Lee did not learn any lessons during his previous stint in jail, maybe this time he will.
